Metro Services Group has held an externally accredited Environmental Management System to ISO 14001 standard since 2006 across its entire business. 



Our key achievements: In 2015/16 we achieved 39% reduction in carbon per £m turnover since 2014/15. In 2016 we achieved the Achilles Certified Emissions Measurement & Reduction Scheme (CEMARS), providing an external verification of our Carbon Footprint



Our objectives for 2016/17: 

To support the improvement in our environmental performance, the following objectives have been set:

  • Reduce CO2 emissions per million turnover by 2.5% on 2015/16
  • Reduce vehicle idling by 5%

  • Improve average driver scores at Metro Services Group to achieve 300

  • Reduce electricity usage at Macclesfield by 5%

  • Publish a Responsible Purchasing Charter
